It is common knowledge for people that do Internet marketing that PDF e-books are seldom read by people that download them. I believe that this statistic is true, though I have no idea what it is exactly. Irregardless of that fact, you can actually add elements to your PDFs that will create a positive response. That is all you can do, and those who buy and ignore their ebooks are only hurting themselves.

Even if you have written a fairly short PDF report or ebook, separate it into sections and include a ToC (Table of Contents). This is to help increase the professionalism of how you present yourself and it tells your readers what they can expect from you. It's also good to make your ToC linkable so that people can click on it and go directly to the section they want to read the most. Not a lot of PDFs are created this way and that is only the fault of the creator because it is so easy to do. This is so easy and convenient for your readers and you always want to help your readers out as much as you can. Organization is important with ebooks and PDFs because they provide more convenience for the readers. You understand that any time that you are able to accomplish this will win more points for you. So--just as you know you need footers and headers--you know that you should have page numbers too. There are different ways to do this and there is nothing hard at all about it. If you want to be as accurate as possible, use Roman numerals for the pages at the beginning that contain your disclaimers and legal info. Content based pages, then, need "regular" numbers. This is the best way to number your pages and you should take the few minutes it takes to do it properly so that you will look more professional.

Hopefully you will do what you need to do with your PDF so that it will resemble a short book as much as it possibly can. To use one example, if your ebook is twenty pages long, you can separate it out into seven to ten different sections that people can think of as chapters. Either way, the point here is to have chapter or section headings. And these are much like sub-headings but they can still function as chapter names too. Your headings need to be as descriptive as possible so that your readers will understand what each section is going to be about. Then, you can even go a little further and make them catchy and interesting to read. Any time that you can do extra work to make things more interesting you should do it. The good thing about making your PDFs more effective with your readers is it's easy to do. What you can do is just practice on your own because there are a couple of things you need to learn how to do. Adding graphical changes to a PDF is something most people have not experimented with very much. By practicing just a little, you'll eventually avoid making mistakes.
